About 18 high school students from Madera pulled an eight-hour shift with other teenagers at a warehouse in Pasadena to help Kiwanis International Club decorate floral floats for the 126th Rose Bowl Parade.
As Kiwanis International Key Club members, they helped decorate nine out of 45 floats presented in the parade themed “Inspiring Stories” on New Year’s Day. One of the floats decorated, a large birthday cake, belonged to the Kiwanis Club and celebrated the club’s 100th year anniversary.
The teens also helped with floats by Honda, Sony and Traders Joe’s.
