Board Meeting

Members Present:
Reid Allen, President, Marsha Jackson, Bob Erikson, Jean Erikson, Larry Madick, Craig Wallace, Bart, Carroll, Shirley Carroll, Dave Wallach, Stan Bowers and Orlene Bowers.

Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order at 11:00 a.m. by President Reid Allen.

Approval of Minutes:
The minutes were approved as presented.

Treasurer's Report:
Treasurer Craig Wallace presented the Rose Float Club ($29,500) and Rose Float Foundation ($2000) budgets for the 2007-2008 year. It was M/S/P to approve the budgets as presented. The Treasurer’s Report (as of October 31, 2007) was distributed and it was M/S/P to approve as presented.

Announcements:
Reminders: December 1 is the next meeting of the Rose Float Club and opportunity drawing for grandstand seating/luncheon/Rose Bowl tickets. This meeting will be held at the Rosemont Pavilion. December 9 is the next meeting of the Gala Affair Steering Committee. This will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Denny’s Restaurant in Temple City.

Future Project: The spring Rose Float Club of Pasadena Gala Affair was discussed. A speaker is still needed. Reid is still trying for Pete Carroll, Pat Haden or Vin Scully. A date of the Gala and a site are still needed. Two possible dates were suggested. Saturday, April 26 was the first choice of the Board and Saturday, May 3 was second choice. Possible sites were suggested that could seat 500 people. Those sites were the Pickwick Equestrian Center; City of Industry Equestrian Center; and, the Rosemont Pavilion.

International President’s Visit: Dave Curry, the Kiwanis International President will visit the Rose Float decorating site on December 29 and then he will be the keynote speaker at a luncheon at the University Club in Pasadena at 12 noon. The luncheon will be co-hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Pasadena and the Kiwanis Rose Float Club of Pasadena. There will be the usual raffle and the Board was asked to donate raffle prizes. The cost of the luncheon is $40.00. Contact Craig Wallace or Reid Allen for reservations.

Rose Float Photo Day: Dave Wallach reported that he and two riders attended the Photo Day and reception at the Tournament of Roses House on Orange Grove Avenue in Pasadena on Saturday, November 10 where everyone in attendance got to meet the Rose Queen and her Court. A good time was had by all.

Rose Float Club Officers:
Reid Allen was asked by the Board of Directors to evaluate the participation of the Officers/Directors and make a recommendation for a change if needed.
