KIWANIS ROSE FLOAT CLUB
Board Meeting
May 19, 2007

 

 


Members Present: Reid Alien, President; Craig Wallace, Treasurer; Dave Wallach, Margo Dutton, Shirley Carroll, Bart Carroll, Stan Bowers & Orlene Bowers.

Call to Order: By President Reid Alien @ 9 57 p.m.

Treasurer's Report: Accepted as submitted.

New Business:
Fellowship of Christian Athletes Scholarship: The cost this year is $475 with a reimbursement of only $100 to club. It was M/S/P that the Rose Float Club give only one scholarship this fiscal year.

Promoting the Rose Float: Dave Wallach reported on the proposed trip to the Georgia District Convention at to promote the Rose Float. The club was invited by the Georgia District give this presentation. The plane fare, using Frequent Flyer Miles, was donated by a club member. The cost to the Rose Float Club is $100 for registration and $225 for the hotel. It was M/S/P unanimously to pay the registration fee now and the hotel costs will be proposed later.

T-Shirt/Sweatshirt Ideas: Several color combinations were presented the members at the meeting. It was decided by the group to go with the light blue T-Shirt/Sweatshirt color this year and a cut out transfer.

Incorporation: Pat Liddell, our club incorporating attorney will be at the June 16 meeting to discuss and answer any questions regarding the club's incorporation. The club has submitted the paperwork and the process is nearly completed.

CLE Training: It is August 4, 2007 at the Altadena Community Center from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. The President and Secretary are required to attend.

Scheduled Meetings: The meeting schedule was discussed for the rest of this Kiwanis year and is as follows June 9 (Club only); June 16 (Club and Board); July 5 (Club only at International Convention); July 28 (Committee, Club 8, Board); August 11 (Club & Board); August 25 (Club only at District Convention); September 8 {Club & Board); September 22 (Club & Committee).

December 2007 Feeding Schedule: The schedule was distributed to the members.

Float Riders: There was a discussion regarding who may ride on the float. The Board began looking at new criteria for riders and for promoting the call for riders throughout North America and perhaps the world.
