KIWANIS ROSE FLOAT CLUB
Club Meeting
January 27, 2008

 

 


Members Present:
Reid Allen, President, Craig Wallace, Treasurer, Orlene Bowers, Asst. Secretary, Stan Bowers, V.P., Dave Wallach, Rose Float Committee Chairman, and Bart Carroll and Shirley Carroll, Directors.

Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order at 2:35 p.m. by Reid Allen, President.


Approval of Minutes:
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as presented.


Treasurer’s Report:
Craig Wallace, Treasurer, presented the Income/Expenditure Report for the Rose Float Club and Rose Float Club Foundation.

Other Fiscal Actions:
a. After a long discussion regarding policy, it was M/S/P to reimburse $900.00 to Division 10 for meal enhancements for Rose Float decorators.

b. It was M/S/P to have the Rose Float Club Foundation purchase five (5) $100.00 tickets for the Opportunity Drawing in the name of Sponsored Youth Scholarships.

c. It was M/S/P to send a letter to all Rose Float Club (RFC) members requesting that they buy themselves or sell to others the Opportunity Drawing tickets to complete the sale of the 200 tickets by the March 8 Mid-Year Conference (North) so the drawing can be held at the Rose Float Breakfast at that meeting.

d. It was M/S/P to have the Rose Float Club send $5000.00 to the Rose Float Committee for distribution to Phoenix Decorating to help cover a portion of the cost of the 2008 Kiwanis International Rose Float.


Announcements:
a. Rose Float Club Meeting Dates for February/March: Saturday, February 2 (Club) at Denny’s – Temple City, 9:00 a.m.; Sunday, February 24 (Club & Board) at Denny’s – Temple City, 11:30 a.m.; Saturday, March 1 (Club) at Mid Year-South, 7:00 a.m.; Saturday, March 8 (Club) at Mid Year-North, 7:00 a.m.; Saturday, March 15 (Committee & Board) at Denny’s – Temple City, 9:00 a.m.

b. Rose Float Club Breakfast at Mid Year (South & North): Roy Talley, candidate for CNH Governor-elect, will be the featured speaker

c. Discussion of Activities: Dan & Vicki Steffan, RFC members, who recently moved to Washington in the Northwest District is selling a $1,000 worth of Rose Float pins and other items to Kiwanians in that District. His help is much appreciated.

d. Club of the Month: The Rose Float Club has been selected as the Division 10 - Club of the Month by Steve Golden, Lt. Governor. This honor was earned for all the outstanding Rose Parade & Float decorating activities in December.

Meeting Adjournment:
